“This was a fantastic experience for our son, thanks to the Leader’s relationship with the boys. The planning done by Antipodeans, which made the trip a huge success, was incredible!”

The World You'll Explore
The perfect way to begin your journey is by exploring the bustling city of San Jose, embracing the urban scene in the morning and participating in Spanish lessons in the afternoon. Outside of the cities, take part in snorkeling or kayaking on one of Costa Rica's world famous beaches, or get your heart pumping with one of many adventure activities you can take part in! Costa Rica is an outdoor lovers’ paradise and it definitely has tonnes of activities to choose from.
For those who love lacing up their hiking boots, there are endless trekking options through National Parks in Costa Rica, and many of them involve volcanoes, jungles and the Andean Mountains. One of the more popular options is the Parque Nacional Chirripo’s - home to Costa Rica’s highest peak, Cerro Chirripo, at 3,820 metres! The trek offers a chance to see mountains with glacial lakes, rocky outcrops and abundant highland wildlife. If you’re really keen to explore as much as you can, you can also opt to add-on some short jungle treks, in addition to your main mountain trek.
Back on the ground, refuel like a true local and sample the local flavours at a ‘soda’ - a small, informal restaurant serving traditional meals like chicken, rice, beans and salad for just $2-$3 a plate. There’s one in every single town throughout the country, each with its own distinct personality and special dishes.
The Impact You'll Make
Costa Rica is a nature-lovers’ dream come true, with more than 25% of the entire country dedicated to national parks, reserves and wildlife refuges. With new species of flora and fauna being discovered all the time, it may come as no surprise then, that tremendous efforts are being made to preserve the biodiversity found in the country.
During your Expedition, you’ll have the chance to work on a range of wildlife conservation projects. These projects have been rigorously researched and selected by us to be reputable, sustainable, and most of all, genuinely beneficial to the local ecosystem.
You’ll may also have the opportunity to take part in renovation projects while in Costa Rica, working with small communities to help to renovate and build village schools. Really get to know the locals, brush up on your Spanish, and immerse yourself in the local way of life!
