“My most successful idea was a movie session. Mum knew the local cinema owner, who was able to help organise a fundraiser screening of Finding Dory. I made a profit of around $8 on every $15 ticket sold, to go towards the trip.”

Get a loan
OS-HELP loan
The Australian Government provides Commonwealth-supported students (that meet eligibility requirements) with an OS-HELP Loan if they are undertaking part of their study overseas. This loan is valued at up to $7,764 and is added onto your HECS debts. Find out if you are eligible.

New Colombo Plan funding
The New Colombo Plan Mobility Program provides funding to Australian universities to support Australian undergraduate students to participate in semester-based or short-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums and research in 38 host locations across the Indo-Pacific region. Organised by DFAT, grants of up to $3000/student are available to support educational experiences in the Indo-Pacific region.
